Night of Biodiversity 💡

It’s the Night of Biodiversity! A fantastic opportunity for us to go out and check whether the lights in Paris’ store fronts and shop windows are switched off after 1:00am!

Unfortunately, on our outing, we discovered that this sadly wasn’t the case. We spotted such bad behaviour from a lot of major brands and chain stores, from the likes of Mango, BoConcept and Antonelle Paris, to La Brioche Dorée and NAF NAF, to name but a few 🙄

And yet, the law states that business owners and managers in France are required to switch off the lights in their storefronts between the hours of 1:00am and 7:00am, and that their shop windows should be switched off no more than one hour after closing time.

At the end of the day, the rules of the game are really quite simple. If all business owners in France carried out this simple action, we’d see some pretty staggering results:
💡 1,000 GWh of electricity saved every year;
🌿 120,000 tonnes less CO2 released into the atmosphere;
🐝 Significantly less light pollution for the benefit of biodiversity!

So, to all you business owners out there, let’s not forget, protecting biodiversity starts with each and every one of us, each and every day… and each and every night too! 💡🌿🌏☀️
