A ‘Paris-Roubaix’ Visit to La Gentle Factory

We had a great time visiting our friends at La Gentle Factory in their new offices and workshop in Roubaix, situated in northern France! 🙏

La Gentle Factory is a French fashion brand that works hard daily to provide an environmentally friendly alternative to mainstream high street fashion brands. Their wares are woven from organic cotton and recycled fibres, not to mention being entirely manufactured in our own backyard here in France! 🇫🇷

What role for youth in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and in particular Integrated Water Resources Management? Read the vision of Asma, our Co-president, in the UN Chronicle:

In September 2015, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the resolution “Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.”1 This new development agenda propagates an all-of-society engagement and partnership as a main driver for transformation. It is a collective action plan that unites State and non-State actors, whereby adequate opportunity and space is given to all major groups in society.

Vivien nominated as Global Youth Climate Ambassador!

YES, youth has a role to play for climate action!
Congrats to Vivien, our Co-president, for his nomination as Global Youth Climate Network (GYCN) Climate Ambassador for 2019! 🇫🇷🤗🇪🇺

The Global Youth Climate Network acts as a catalyst for youth throughout the world. It helps youth to work together for the development and implementation of initiatives raising awareness on climate change adapation and mitigation.

From Organic Wine and Christmas Fairs to the 2018 UN Climate Conference in Poland 🇵🇱

As we attend the organic wines (ViniBio) and organic Christmas (Noël en bio) fairs, we wanted to give you an update on proceedings at the #COP24 (2018 UN Climate Change Conference in Katowice), where negotiations have finally come to an end.

Fortunately, some people are not content to wait around for the next edition before suggesting a new and more sustainable model for our societies!

10th UNESCO International Forum of NGOs

On 26 and 27 November, UNESCO and the NGO-Unesco Liaison Committee organised in Moscow the 10th International Forum of NGOs, in partnership with the Russian Peace Foundation and the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The theme of the 10th Forum was “Science as a Common Good of Humankind”. Participants considered how science could contribute to peace-making and progress in the various fields of food security, health, education, gender inequalities, and also water management and climate change.

Lauriane at the 10th International Forum of NGOs in Moscow!

Lauriane, our Head of Research, is a UNESCO nominee for the 10th International Forum of NGOs to be held in Moscow! 

Organised by UNESCO and the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee, in partnership with the Russian Peace Foundation and the Russian Academy of Sciences, the 10th International Forum of NGOs will allow participants to exchange on the role of science as common good of humankind.

World CleanUp Day: 1 Month On ! ♻

We did it again! 1 month after World Cleanup Day, we were once again out and about in Paris’ Martin Luther King park to pick up litter 🥤🛍🚮

Between 60% and 90% of the litter we find around us is made up of plastic, as outlined by our friends at Zero Waste France. However, plastic bags take up to 450 years to decompose in the wild…
Cigarette butts, product wrappers, straws, plastic bottles, you name it!
