World CleanUp Day: 1 Month On ! ♻

We did it again! 1 month after World Cleanup Day, we were once again out and about in Paris’ Martin Luther King park to pick up litter 🥤🛍🚮

Between 60% and 90% of the litter we find around us is made up of plastic, as outlined by our friends at Zero Waste France. However, plastic bags take up to 450 years to decompose in the wild…
Cigarette butts, product wrappers, straws, plastic bottles, you name it!

Shoe Pyramid for Peace

Last weekend, Handicap International set up its 24th annual shoe pyramid display, which is designed to raise awareness around the dangers of using explosive weapons in inhabited zones.

As the organisation points out, 92% of bombing victims are civilians, even though they themselves are not responsible for armed conflict. The shoe pyramids are meant as a symbolic gesture to say “Stop!”, once and for all, to these lethal bombings in inhabited zones.

This year’s shoe pyramid also served as a reminder of those who lost their lives in the Rana Plaza sweatshop collapse in Bangladesh in 2013, in which 1100 people lost their lives.

With this, we feel it necessary to remind everyone that we are one planet, one people and, most importantly, we’re all in this together 🌿🌏☀️
